Real Life DayZ Parts 4 and 5

Oh wowza we're behind. Here are the two latest and final installments of our Real Life DayZ series!

Here the story picks up from before with Chet struggling to survive as usual. He meets new people along the way and finds out information on who he has to confront and possibly kill. These last two parts really pack the action in and deal with the "kill on sight" elements present in DayZ.

It was really fun making these videos, but we're definitely ready to expand our horizons now. We hope you guys liked our work with this series. Remember to like, favorite and share b/c it helps us out as a team know you guys enjoy our stuff!

Real Life DayZ Movie Part 3 - Zombie Apocalypse Series

Well DayZ Part 3 is finally!

You can watch it here:

We think it's our best so far in terms of delivering action and drama. As you guys may know, our original video started off being based off of DayZ. As we progressed through the series, we began borrowing elements from other well known zombie titles such as "The Last of Us," "Zombie Survival Guide," "World War Z." Hell, we even looked to "Saving Private Ryan" for inspiration in this video (you'll find out why when you watch it). We wanted to separate ourselves from all the other DayZ videos that wanted to take the comedic route and let ourselves delver into a deeper story. Our big guide was no doubt "The Walking Dead" due to it's amazing story. Hopefully you all will be able to see the influences these various titles have had on us. Overall, we wanted to take the best elements of what it truly means to survive in a post-apocalyptic world (which in this case means going up against bandits and zombies) as regular people. That meant little to no gun training and lack of equipment.

I recommend you guys to watch the whole playlist here to get caught up if you haven't already:

Since filming and most of the editing for parts 4 and 5 are finished, it's safe to say our journey with DayZ is almost over. We're proud of the progress we've made and the friends that have helped along the way and hope you guys enjoy our finished product. If you enjoy watching the video, remember to like, subscribe and share with your friends!

Finished Filming

Well, the day has finally come that we have wrapped up with filming. Filming this short film so war has been a huge uphill battle, but it's great to finally be done with it. There is a lot left to do, but I'd estimate we're about 50-60% there. The rest of the process lies in the editing which will really bring this production to life. We're hoping for a mid-September release and a 18-23 minute final video. Stay tuned to our Facebook for more updates as well as our Twitter

DayZ Part 3 Update

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the low amount of work that has been put into this blog. We'll be taking better care of it from now on. For this post, we're focusing on Real Life DayZ Part 3.

Since DayZ is an open world game and doesn't have dedicated characters, we have the freedom of basing stories off of our own characters while still playing towards what the game offers. The footage so far looks great and the acting has improved from the past. Here's a list of some of the things we're incorporating:

  • Bandits
  • Street clothing
  • Zombie mechanics (jumping etc)
  • Trust factor
  • Chance encounters
  • DayZ related weapons and equipment
Improvements from the previous two videos:
  • Audio
  • Acting
  • Costumes
  • Color correction
  • SFX
  • Length
  • Story and plot holes
  • Action
So far, we've filmed a good chunk of the middle, but we haven't touched the beginning or end yet. That probably amounts to having 60% of the thing filmed. Here are some shots of what you can expect:

The color correction isn't final but it does look pretty good for now. After seeing these shots I think you guys can ease your fears about us getting better costumes and taking the time to add more dirt. As the script looks now, there's a pretty good balance between action and story this time around. If everything goes as planned we could be looking at a release date around early or mid September.

It's been quite the challenge trying to film this since we're still working on zero budget (we were able to break even though!). This will probably be our last big project for a while as I would like to transition into more short form videos since they're easier to film and I can upload them faster. Still, DayZ has been quite the surprising ride so far.
